Here are some frequently asked questions & answers about Intramurals.
What are Intramurals?
Intramurals are after-school sports for Novi Meadows 5th and 6th graders. Students compete against each other in a sport. There are no established teams, but rather the teams are determined at each session. We stress fair play, good sportsmanship, and teamwork...while having fun learning and playing games with our friends. Students should have appropriate shoes in order to participate.
When are Intramurals?
Intramurals are held on Mondays, right after school at 2:30-3:45pm. Please check the schedule for the date, sport, and the alphabet (Last names: A-L or M-Z). Intramurals may be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. If this happens, the students will be notified by a P.A. announcement during school hours and the students will be allowed to call from the office and notify a parent. Due to the large number of participants, we alternate Mondays according to students’ last names.
Who may come to Intramurals?
Any Novi Meadows student, boy or girl, is welcome to participate in our Intramural program. We reserve the right to exclude any student that chooses to display inappropriate behavior during our activities.
Where are Intramurals held?
Intramurals are held in each of the gyms. Fifth grade students attend in the 5th grade gym. Sixth grade students attend in the 6th grade gym.
Is sign-up required?
We do not have a sign-up for Intramurals. We only ask that students inform parents beforehand that they will be staying after school. We ask that student participants stay the full time.
How will my child get home after Intramurals?
Parents will need to pick up their child by 3:15 p.m. at the front of the sixth grade house. This will be for both 5th and 6th graders.
Are skills taught during Intramurals?
With the limited amount of time, our intention is to allow students to play the games with as little instruction as possible. What we do teach is fair play, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Our goal is to have fun in a safe and supervised environment.

There are a number of families that will be carpooling and picking up students from both houses. It is our hope that a centralized pick up point will help with pick up logistics. If you have any questions after viewing the links below, please reach out to the 5th grade (248-449-1250) or 6th grade (248-449-1270) office. Thank you!
